Το Corfu Mountain Trail ενημερώνει ότι ο αγώνας Corfu Old Town Trail, ο οποίος είχε προγραμματιστεί για το Σάββατο 13 Σεπτεμβρίου 2025, δεν θα πραγματοποιηθεί.

Ο λόγος είναι ότι, λόγω της διεξαγωγής του 1ου Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Φιλαρμονικών και των παράλληλων εκδηλώσεων που γίνεται υπό την αιγίδα της Περιφέρειας Ιονίων Νήσων στην Κέρκυρα, το επίσημο πολιτιστικό πρόγραμμα της πόλης για το διάστημα 12–15 Σεπτεμβρίου δεν επιτρέπει την ένταξη άλλων δράσεων.

Σεβόμαστε απόλυτα αυτήν την απόφαση και ευχόμαστε κάθε επιτυχία στη διοργάνωση, η οποία αναδεικνύει τη μουσική παράδοση του νησιού μας.

Θα θέλαμε να ευχαριστήσουμε τους αθλητές εντός και εκτός Ελλάδας, τους εθελοντές, τους συνεργάτες και τους χορηγούς για την κατανόηση και τη στήριξή τους.

Η ενέργεια και η αγάπη σας μας δίνουν δύναμη να συνεχίσουμε να σχεδιάζουμε νέες εμπειρίες για το μέλλον, στο πλαίσιο του Corfu Mountain Trail.

Corfu Mountain Trail announces that the Corfu Old Town Trail race, which was scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, will not take place.

The reason is that, due to the 1st International Philharmonic Festival and the parallel events in Corfu, the official cultural program of the city from September 12–15 does not allow for the inclusion of other activities.

We fully respect this decision and wish every success to the festival, which highlights the musical tradition of our island.

We would like to thank the athletes, volunteers, partners, and sponsors for their understanding and support.

Your energy and passion give us the strength to continue designing new experiences for the future, within the framework of the Corfu Mountain Trail.

RACE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE 12^th  «CORFU OLD TOWN TRAIL»

The 12^th  «CORFU OLD TOWN TRAIL» will be held on Saturday 13th of September 2025 organized by the co-operation of the Municipality of Central Corfu, the Region of Ionian Islands and the Corfu Mountain Trail Organising Team.

The CORFU OLD TOWN TRAIL is a city trail that takes place every year at the end of the tourist season (September-October) at a distance of 14km and 7km. The day will also include a Kids-Parents race.

The route of the 14 km race starts at the Liston Square continues through the square of St. Spyridonas, crossing Nikiforou Theotoki St. and leads us to the hill of the new Fortress, continuing inside the fortified part of the old city. It passes the Jewish quarter heading towards the City Hall (San Giacomo), the Duomo (Catholic church), and the historic neighborhood of Porta Remunda with its many cantons.

The route continues in Paleopolis (Mon Repo), where the worship centre of ancient Corfu is located, as well as the old villa of the English commissioner (Frederick Adams) granted later to King George I. and now a museum. It returns on the wide sea-side walk of the bay of Garitsa and run through the Old Fortress, the Venetian masterpiece.

The route continues through the Garden of the People, in front of the Palace (Asian Museum), and enters in the labyrinthine streets of Corfu Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage). The finish line is in the famous Liston, a trademark of the historic city center.

The 7 km route starts together with the 14 km route until Porta Remunda but it turns to the left there to enter the Old Fortress without going to Paleopoli and Garitsa bay, and follows the last part of the 14 km route to finish in Liston Square as well.

Around 500 athletes participate in the races. The Corfu Old Town Trail dates back to 2013.
